Air compressor questions

If you are plumbing the air lines into the house and don't foresee moving the compressor frequently I'd wire it in and forget about it. If you need to move it to clean behind it, or will be moving it outside to work on stuff and then back inside, I would install an outlet.

I find an outlet handy so I can unplug it to do maintenance.

If it's going to be perma mounted, figure out somethig to do with the nasty rust water that comes out of the drain BEFORE you stick it in it's new home.

I have been eyeing up one of those water tank pans plumbed to my floor drain.

just a suggestion. Wire it to a disconnect. Bring 220 to the disconnect from the main breaker, then wire to the compressor. They have either a fused disconnect or a circuit breaker. much like the ones they use by your heat pump. for the tubing, we just got done running 1 inch copper up the from the compressor walls to 1 in sch 40 pvc across the rafters tying in a few drop downs. We've used sch 40 in our shop for a while and not had a problem.
