A Wrinkle in Time Part 2

This is a sweet trip down memory lane.
Looks like somthing out of an old Outdoor Life mag. Can you get some old stories from your dad to include. I'm sure he has some Patrick McManus type stories about you and your brother. :D
Looking forward to more.

Cool stuff. What is the Davis County Jeep Patrol, anyway (I think that's what the shield on the door says). You may have explained it already, but I can't find it anywhere. Anyway, thanks again for the great pics.

-----Matt-----
Before there was such things as Search and Rescue they had the jeep patrol. Pretty much the same thing just an earlier concept.

My father was Commander for the National Search and Rescue for a year or so.

Day late and a jeep short. Sorry. Stuck in Moab. Life sucks sometimes. :D

This week I have some shots of newer jeeps and also some of my favorites.

I also just noticed that I have more doubles. I guess this week will be a couple short on pics.

Snow wheeling.

Alice lake again. In Wyoming.

Another Alice Lake.

My Favorite pic of my Dad. In the Fish Lake Mountains.

Another one of my Favorites. This is my uncle and my grandpa. I never met my grandfather. He died three years before I was born. My uncle bought that jeep from army surpluss for 2 bucks.

Thats it for this week. Sorry to short you a couple.

what kind of pickup is that?
Good pics. It's crazy to think that we went from that to 40" tires.

This is one of the best threads I've ever seen anywhere, period.

That Grand Wagoneer going up the dunes looks like it's fully loaded with passengers and cargo, and the kids sitting under the canoe on the bed of the Willys really shows how things have changed - if you did that now, someone would scream about child endangerment and have you arrested.

Great photos. Can't wait for more.

It's Friday!

OK. This first one is a pic of a Jeep my father still owns. Of course it looks a little rougher (for now)
34694%3A765%7Ffp46%3Dot%3E2334%3D%3C8%3A%3D324%3DXROQDF%3E232377488%3B37%3Bot1lsi

Most of this weeks Pics are of the same era but are scanned from B&W photos instead of scanned from slides.
I don't know where this is.
34694%3A765%7Ffp46%3Dot%3E2334%3D%3C8%3A%3D324%3DXROQDF%3E232377488%3B464ot1lsi

Not exactly a jeep pic but a funny one anyway. That cardboard sign says "end of Ford Country" LOL

Back before the Search and Rescue days when it was still known as the Jeep Patrol they had what they called rallies.

Another rally shot

and another
34694%3A765%7Ffp45%3Dot%3E2334%3D%3C8%3A%3D324%3DXROQDF%3E232377488%3A3%3A4ot1lsi

It just never gets old.

haha...Rock Racing in its infancy.

One of my absolute all time favorite pics of my dad.
Can anyone else relate?

Enjoy um everyone. If I can find some wireless Internet in Moab next week I will post up week seven. If not you will have to wait till I get home Saturday night.

Know what just occurred to me?
Your folks spent a LOT of money on developing!
Actually no. My dad and his dad both has-had dark rooms. They did most of it themselfs.

I bet they spent more on developing then gas though. My dad was telling me it was less then .50$ a gallon back then.

Sheesh! Almost a week late. Thats what Moab will do for your brain. Sorry.

This weeks pics progress from old to a little newer. Enjoy!

Sliver Stairs...before it was a NP and you could drive whatever way you wanted.

Sand Dunes....somewhere. Probably Little Sahara.
346%3A5%3B87%3B%7Ffp45%3Dot%3E2334%3D%3C8%3A%3D324%3DXROQDF%3E232377488%3C7%3C6ot1lsi

Most of you won't regegnize this place but for those of you who have been to my brothers house across the Hwy from me. His house sits where this pic was taken.
346%3A5%3B87%3B%7Ffp47%3Dot%3E2334%3D%3C8%3A%3D324%3DXROQDF%3E232377488%3C234ot1lsi

Now to some newer ones. The jeep in the middle is my dads 85. Right off the lot.
346%3A5%3B87%3B%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E2334%3D%3C8%3A%3D324%3DXROQDF%3E2323774%3A6%3A475ot1lsi

Same jeep. The day he brought it home. He ordered it from the factory. Had all the bells and whistles.
346%3A5%3B87%3B%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E2334%3D%3C8%3A%3D324%3DXROQDF%3E2323774%3A6%3A%3B3%3Aot1lsi

At the mall. Why he took this pic I have no idea. Other then there wasn't a lot of XJs running around in the spring of 85

Last one of the new old jeep. Sitting on the lot. Notice the Renults in the background? Not many of those around anymore.

There ya go. Two more weeks and I am out of pics.

I really wish I was alive back then. Nice pics, now start digging for more. This has to last more than two more weeks.

I have to agree with CASM; this is one of the best threads ever. We should make this a sticky! I am a history buff anyways, and to get a glimpse at one families Jeeping history is a treat for me.

Make this a sticky!
