Well, been thinking it over and I've decided to just keep the XJ on 35 and semi-stock axle for a few more years. The trails I run are just way to tight for 37/39's on full-widths, so I've decided to sell my parts truck whole or for individual parts. The truck doesn't run, but all the drivetrain spin freely, tranny/t-case/axles. I am looking for about 1500obo for the whole truck, 1000obo for the axle set HP60/D60, 500obo for the drivetrain 351M/NP435/205, taking offers anything else. Looking to start cutting it apart this weekend so if you want the whole truck let me know soon.

Hopefully I'll get close-ups of the axles and drivetrain this weekend when I move it and start cutting her apart. Will not ship unless somebody pays for it, but will meet or deliver larger parts (axles/drivetrain) up to 200 miles from 12837.

usually those 250's with 60's in the rear had a d44 up front. do you have the BOM off the front axle?

I would have to agree with you most of the time F250's did come with the D44 up front. But this is a snowfighter edition, dual D60's. I can't actually get to the front axle to take the BOM off it, but I did run the numbers off the factory ID plate and is came up as having a D60 front with 3.55 gears. Plus if you notice in the front hub picture, it fill the center hole on the wheel, unlike a HD44 8 lug, also the locking hub is a D60 type, not a D44. Actually there are alot of these Snowfighter Edition F250's running around me, alot still on the road, I think ford sent alot of them to the northern states back in the day.

Yes but the rear axle ffD60 is only considered a 3/4 ton axle which is usually paired with a d44. the Hub on the outside does't really mean anything. The d44 did usually have a smaller hub but that was for the 5 lug versions I have seen the 8 lug versions have the hubs you are showing. I may be interested if you can confirm the axles I would like the BOM# off front and rear. and maybe some better shots from underneath of the axle itself.

Not to sounds like an a$$hole, but did you ever hear of the SnowFighter package in the late 70's Ford F-250's? They came from the factory with with dual 60's, HP60 up front and a reg FF60 in the rear. Only the F350's, and most were special orders except in 79 when they didn't make a 79 F350 4x4 from the factory, had a front HP60 and a Reg FF70 out back. This F250 is basically a heavy 3/4, built for plowing, hence the HP60 up front. Tonight I'll get the numbers off the factory ID plate for you. Plus a HD44 outer hub still uses a the 19 spline hub off a regular D44, not the 30 spline hub you see in the picture. Trust me it is a HP 60 up front.

Here's a pic from Billvista's D60 bible on how to ID a Front 60, and the hub looks the same in my picture.

ok so get the BOM its not that hard. if the numbers check I would be interested.

Did you pull the hub and confirm the 30splines?

because they do make a 52 spline outer with a 19 spline inner that would work on a d44 I have seen it before that 4 inch means nothing. most d44 8 lugs did come with the bolt on style hubs but in the past I have found 2 that I have picked up d44 with the internal style hubs like you are showing a picture of.

I know because the first time I got burned by going by billavistas guide. the second I found just laying around and never knew what it came out of. and the bom was not legible. billavista is just like the real bible alot of it can be proven inacurate. but it is a very good referance guide probably the best out there.

Get me the BOM #s and some more pics and I may come get it.

Deal...........I plan on getting more pictures of it this weekend anyways. But as I said before I ran the numbers off the factory ID plate and it called out a front Dana 60 and rear Dana 60. All the other numbers match, color, motor, tranny, everything. Oh yeah, it does have Kingpin style knuckles.

well thats probably the best indicator of a dana 60

Yeah they kinda stickout compared to a ball-joint axle.

Ok so I couldn't get to the BOM on the front of the axle, plow frame is in the way and it doesn't look like I'll be able to start cutting it up till next week, have to help parents move stuff so they can redo their floors. But I did get a couple of pics of the knuckle, as you can see its a King-pin style, main reason I bought the truck in the first place. I also got a pic of the ID plate on the driver's door, which if you run the numbers, calls out the Heavy duty front axle, which is a HP60 with 3.55 gears.
