Putting a new 4.0 HO in my 94, what head should I go with? I really don't know much about motors. Any info. would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

get the head off of a 96+ and get the intake as well!!! may need to get the power steering pump and bracket as well...never got a clear answer on that one!

the intake is good for 15hp (or so "they" claim) but will improve MPG by at least 2mpg I am told and the pump is a bracket issue I think...

With the 96 top engine, you get the best of neither world

91-95 heads flow better than renix or OBDII ( i have a picture comparing a 90 and 92 if i can get to it)
99+ intake flows better

If you get a 99+ intake manifold, you will need the PS bracket.

Reuse your '94 head. The 91-95 head is the better of the factory heads. The 96-98 is suppose to not much farther behind. The 91-95 head has an extra temp sensor towards the back on the drives side. The 99+ intake manifold looks to be a big improvement, but I doubt 15 extra HPs to a stock motor. Possibly a stroker motor. I would think 5Hp to maybe 10HP on a well modified motor (exhuast, header, TB, etc.). You might want to port your head and increase compressions. Look at Dinos site. Good info.http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/stroker.html

If you use a later block 96+, they have locator dowel pins for the head. Your 94 head will swap on. I had to do some filing/grinding to get mine to fit. Other did not have this problem. Still working on mine. Hopefully in the next few weeks.
