I'm done with this aussie locker skipping while I drive down the road!

I need a loaded 29 spline 8.25 carrier to lincoln lock. Let me know what you have

Did you try a spring kit? I have one in my 8.8 and it rarely rarely rarely skips. Usually the skipping is a sign of failing pins and springs.

If its offroad only, then do as you wish though

Its not a daily driver, I do drive it to the trails. The locker stays locked all the time now and it drives good except when it skips. I put a new spring/pin kit in it back in December and it still does it.

I prefer a Detroit but no money right now

I hear ya, I have some spiders but they are from a 27 spline, so no good for you. Otherwise you could have em.

Edit: You don't think you have a R&P problem do you? Teeth missing or broke, bearing shot?...............just spit balling here.

Nope, when I replaced the pins/springs I inspected the gears, all is good. I set the gears up myself 3 years ago and the contact pattern is still dead on perfect. The gearset I put in there is cryoed and the axle is trussed tied into the ruffstuff cover so no RG deflection.

Seems like you have it covered then. I'll keep an eye out for some spiders.

We had a lot of trouble with a buddy's 8.25" & Aussie combo. We got a factory side gear shim kit and loosened up the clearances a bit. The engagement/disengagement is still a little rough on one side, but it's a giant improvement over the way it was initially and it still locks like it should. One day we'll get in there and loosen the other side up so it's more even side to side performance-wise.

EDIT: Here's a link to the set:

I found the issue with the aussie, my ZJ right rear caliper is dragging causing the locker to not disengage.

I can fix that easy enough

Thanks for all of the responses

You may also want to inspect the parking brake shoes. My wife's ZJ had a similar problem. After disassembling everything I discovered the lining of one shoe had come loose and was partially jammed under the other shoe. It made for some unusual driving characteristics, to say the least....and that was without a locker lol

I think that is what it is! initial inspection doesn't show any signs of trouble with the caliper/pads/rotor.
