I figured I'd post a couple pics of mine. I'm using what are said to be F-150 springs. I went to the junkyard and searched through a bunch of packs they had in a pile when I found them.
I used the ford shackles and got about 6.5" from them. They actually flex and ride pretty well, better than the s10 springs I had before.
I have adjusted the wheelbase since the first pic was taken, you will notice the rear axle is closer to the front. It has also settled to ~6.5", in the pic it's closer to ~7+"
F-150 springs are longer, are they not?? When we took measurements, I remember the Ranger/F-150 springs being about 6" longer. I bet cutting another 3" at each end would work fine.
I might have to find some new main leaves. Mine look like I took Mr. Potato Heads smile, and spun it...I think mine sits at 15.5-16" in the rear. which is about 1.5" sag...
Non of the pics come up for me?? WTF???
yea we need to contact someone bout getting those pics working.. Its like a huge tease up in here.. Seems like a tremdously informative write up,pics would just take it to the next level...yeah its been like that for months with me. i sure would like to see some pics too.
Not really a good idea, at least in front. At that point you need to at least change the control arms or better, look into drop brackets or longarms.does anyone know of a 6" junkyard lift? or anything bigger than 4"?
