Your Jeep progress?

If it weren't for bad luck......

Burned out a headlight switch, and almost certainly the alternator (it's only charging at 11 volts!) last Thursday night on my way to an unexpected family funeral.

Guess I better build that relay harness this week for the high power headlights......

I'm not going to jinx anything by commenting anymore about readiness!!!

Last year I thought I was ready and then the rear main blew out at 3AM in Western PA.

(Is there a crossed fingers emoticon?)

4 days . . . . . .

My jeep will actually have 4 wheel drive on Wednesday. I finally got my Locker and gears in the front installed. :D

Next to get the Mobi-Arch installed so I can follow Beezil and OneTon to make sure they get back to camp each night. :D :D

Got my Mobi-Arc back today, and need to get it installed. They installed the higher temp thermo-coupler and checked out my alternator......everything's looking good.

Beezil,

Man you made me surch to see made that quote and it was mine. Don't worry I'll bring the extra long cables for the welder this year. I'll be able to reach you even when I've completed the trail and you're still broken at the beginning of the trail. :D

Ya, well ya know Mark, I always try to make my XJ look good. I don't bother with performance enhancing mods. :D
That oil box contains 4 quarts of 10W30, 2 quarts of RedLine MTL, 2 quarts of Castrol SynTec 5W50, a bottle of brake fluid, and 3 quarts of 75/90 gear oil. CRASH will be carting around his own enging oil and at no time will I be following him on the highway. ;)
By the way, how many spares can you fit under the back seat of an XJ?

:D :D

How do you plan on securing all that steel sitting behind you?

Thats one of the problems I havn't found a solution for yet. But you'll get a laugh out way I secured them till I figure it out.

All that stuff has been riding back there all year. I lay the seatback down and my spare tire is ratchet strapped over the top of it.

Jes

ok, water pump and new t-stat are in, front dif fluid being changed as I type (ok, the paint is drying on the dif cover), K&N is drying out. Waiting till daylight for flush the coolant and put new in (mainly cause I forgot to get distilled water).

Next on the list tomorrow is changing the spark plugs, cap and rotor and getting some miles on the new rear gears. Oh and of course fill it with coolant. Maybe get my rocker skids ready to be modified and installed.

a lil closer today.. i finally got around to cutting off the 4" extra from the new u-bolts.. front and rear receivers are in place, and the front has been modified for better approach angles.. just need to run to the parts store to get some grade 8 stuff to secure the front one better.. i'll be layin in the rain tommorow .... again!!!!! gotta do the CB and fire X, and change the engine, t/case and axle lube's.... oh yeah.. i need to pack sometime before zero hour..
