Nope, no factory sub but it does have a factory amp. Infinity Gold is the brand of the system that came in these Grands. But with it having an aftermarket head unit I doubt the amp is even connected/working.

I'll probably take it to some audio shop and get an estimate to replace the speakers and get an amp/sub. Maybe get a side panel box built for the sub in the cargo area.

troy do not take it to a shop man i installed that system perfectly trust me and the amp is hooked up and working just replace thoose speakers and your good to go all factory wiring is hooked up and no cliped everything was done right

Well, it's far from perfect, but it sure did clean up nice.

I gotta rebuild the front end - definitely needs a track bar and likely some control arm bushings and LBJ's. Bangs and bumpsteers like an old farm truck when it hits a pot hole or bump in the road. Not entirely convinced the rear track bar isn't a little loose too.

Needs shocks - OEM ones on it now ain't cutting it.

Heated seats aren't working.

All of the dadgum stereo speakers are blown.

Both the tensioner and idler pulleys need replaced - squeaky bearings.

Probably do a set of plugs/wires/cap/rotor - they all look like OEM parts.

Auto headlight feature freaks out at twilight - head lights blink on and off like crazy like the light sensor is jacked up or something. And the dash light brightness won't adjust off of bright. (Probably just needs that entire head light/dash light panel/switch replaced.)

Needs hatch struts for the glass and the hatch (when my wife returned, I found that the detail guys left a metal pole in the cargo area they'd used to prop up the hatch .....) I gotta say though..... Chrysler screwed the pooch by NOT making the hatch glass flip up on the XJ like this Grand's does. I like that feature a lot.

Front rotors are out of round. It pulsates pretty bad with moderate braking. (rear brakes were definitely on the metal - fixed those already with new pads and rotors)

The header panel understructure that holds the lights/lenses/grill/bumper cover is all busted up - probably just order a new one off Ebay - all the ones I found in the yards were cracked/broken to some degree if they were still on the vehicles.

And I gotta get that steering wheel re-covered or find a decent one at the junk yard..... that one spot at the top of the wheel that's open/peeling is driving me nuts..... :D (Tried to pull one at the yard yesterday, but I'll be damned if the puller bolts didn't pull out of the threads when I tried to remove it.....wheel frame is friggin aluminum.)

sounds identical to my list last year..

:tears:

JL still makes their ZJ Stealthbox...........

More than you would spend, but just throwing it out there.

Well, having driven this ZJ daily now for the past couple weeks....... I'm kinda diggin' it.

Ordered a new header panel since I couldn't find any good ones at the junk yards/craigslist, and rear hatch struts (4 of 'em) from Ebay last night.

May look at rebuilding the front steering/ball joints this weekend.

Might order some thicker/drilled front rotors as the current ones are out of round and they do get pretty friggin' hot with spirited driving.

Pulled a larger diameter front sway bar off an MJ (1" vs. 1 1/8" dia.) that I'll clean up and throw on it........ add more "g's" to the corners....

Currently getting about 14.5 mpg. I've had some spirited throttle time though and only filled the tank twice since owning it.

Under heavy throttle, I do get some valvetrain pinging/clatter eventhough I'm running premium so at some point, I'll look into upgrading the ignition system, maybe an Accel set up with some good spark plugs. A CAI is on the want list as well.

Had the nasty oil changed a few days after the trade and had the other fluids checked.......... the t-case was 1.5 pints low....... so I'm hoping it wasn't like that for long. Oddly, no real evident leaking from the t-case........

The rear limited slip makes some noise when making sharp, slow turns, but I get a similar, but much quieter noise out of the TBSS rear as well, so I'm hoping this is just normal.

A few weeks back, there was a guy in Wheat Ridge parting out another silver 5.9 but unfortunately, he's scrapped what was left already. I had hoped to get the pass. front fender and lower rocker trim from it.........

with stock size tires, my brothers 5.9 gets about 17.5mpg on long highway trips.. Unfortunitly i only get about 14 on the highway with 32s

the pinging might be a sign that your intake plenum gasket has gone bad, It's a very common problem with the magnum v8's

Yella -- there area couple 5.9 part outs at nagca.com and at mallcrawlin.com, IIRC one was a Colorado rig....

I'm getting 20mpg in mixed driving in the WJ -- nearly 22 highway at 75mph. WOOT, that's far better than the 14-17 I got in the XJ and with more speed and power to boot! I imagine it will improve further once it gets rid of the friction in the POS 247 tcase and can freewheel in 2wd...

dang thats pretty good for a Big V8.

technically, I think the 4.7 would be considered a pretty small V8, but yeah I'm pleased.

Depends, if you compare it to American V8's yes, but if you compare it to Germans its pretty Big. Think about VW, there V10 diesel twin turbo is only a 5.0!

But yeah, in all reality, the 4.7 is pretty small.
