Its a chivy , it may be broke but still runs like a bat , just haven't gotten around to the Opti spark yet , still looking for a GM performance model under 350.00 ...

I agree the LT1 is the ideal motor for any small truck but its a nightmare with
the harness , the ignition system has to match the key , Opti-spark is a biiiaatch and the spark plugs run from under the motor in between the exhaust manifold causing them to fail more often , just a spark plug and wire change can be a three hour job . I could only imagine an LT1 stuffed in an S10 . Anyone thats done the conversion that I've talked to say its very expensive and time consuming .

The older 5.7 TPI is my new option , less wiring , parts are much cheaper and easier to work on .
That motor has been on the market for over 20 years and there is ass loads of aftermarket for it still .
Also in the end they put out about the same amount of hp . Just my 2.5 cents ...

However if you have the small truck v8 sickness like I do , you'll do it anyway ....:laugh3:

Why not an LS swap?

You know, the Dakota R/T's can be has as an extended cab and already have a V8 in them.

lol, those pickups are clean. But man, never were a real performance truck from the performance stats. I heard the trannies go kamakozi as soon as the motor gets a whiff of some laughing gas. If the trans can handle sayyyy a 150 hit that would be a cool pickup.

Thats the dream but finding one cheap is going to be a trick .

I like the truck at the top but allot of miles for an 8 .
Just looks like it hasn't been messed with like the other on the bottom .
