Year/Make/Model of 8.8 donor?

My mistake, sorry.

The part number I gave is for the 8.8 1310 flange adapter not a 1310 yoke.

I would rather have the flange, means replacing it is easy if you bust a ujoint on the trail, which often screws up the yoke ears.

On a kinda typical/funny side note.... I just ordered my simple swap kit from Ruff Stuff a few days ago. Then last night as I'm trying to brainstorm any other things I may need to make this swap happen I stumbled across this...Go figure. And what's worse is that it uses some of the same stuff I just ordered! Argh! To late to change horses now so I'll have to live with it but maybe this will help someone else.?.

Wow, that's a hell of a price on that swap kit!

I might use thicker spring plates but that is $20 in 1/2 plate and some quality time with the drill press.

I actually prefer the 8.8 flange design, if you shred a ujoint ear or break off the nib that holds the cap in place, you simply put a new flange on instead of having to pull the pinion nut. No gear setup change (or rather, no risking screwing up your pinion bearing preload) and no loss of oil or chance of nicking the seal, just 4 bolts.

the only thing I don't like about the companion flange is that it's giant, and sometimes I get it spinning agaist a rock, where a regular pinion yoke wouldn't have been.

Otherwise, what ken said is all true. It's nice to drpo the driveshaft with 4 bolts and not deal with pulling the joint out of a yoke and losing caps, or making sure I get it back where it came from.
