Should I rebuild?

How about some other photo's of XJ's versus ICE! :flame:

Holy hell, How did you manage that? Time to Cage it! Sorry about your jeep dude!

Dang. Hope you are ok man. I had the same thing kill my first XJ. I slid so far on my roof and hood that i had a 12" dia hole in my hood. Not sure i have any pics around of it..happend before digital cameras....

cage it and turn it into full time trail rig. insurance prob. give you less for it than you have in aftermarket parts already

it's a race car now...more aerodynamic.

That sux, but glad that all involved are ok. Not mine, but here is a pic of a member of another jeep club's XJ.

Passenger and driver were both fine.

1) Glad you are ok!
2) more pic of the girl next the jeep... :D
3) cage it and use it as a trail rig

Thanks, we were both OK. That's my daughter.

We crawled out the driver's window.

Hit BLACK ICE in 2wd, roads were dry until we hit the ice and spun out. Maybe it would have pulled through in full time 4wd? I really miss the awesome ground clearance in this snow here in PA.

If I don't sell it for parts, you can bet the next one will have a cage. I might get a southern rust free XJ with a blown engine? My engine was only a year old.

Any interest?

I was driving one of my old XJ's when I hit black ice in Oregon.. once it started sliding, there was no turning back. Inches away from taking out a mailbox, if it had not been for the ditch on the side of the hwy, would probably have been alright, but once the driver left tire hit the ditch, it started rolling. Rolled twice and a half.. landed on the pass side. Was going to chop the top and do a half cage/safari rack, but it was too far away from home to go back and get it later.

That is a first. Not only did you post pics of your daughter she is wearing a bikini! :D At any rate its a good thing you both got out of it without injury. I just wrecked mine in November when a drunk lady turned in front of me. :tears: We both walked away as well but the Jeep is being parted out!

Glad you guys are ok. I had a similar accident about a year ago i was going around 40mph around a curve and hit a patch of black ice it spun the jeep sideways and into a telephone pole.

Lots of useful parts left on your rig, I would buy it back and use them to build another one.

I didn't even turn it in, no injuries. With a $500 ded, and a 1989 Cherokee, the book value would have been so low that I would have lost money buying it back from the ins. company. So it sits under tarps, waiting for the snow to vanish.

I just bought a Sears Diehard Gel battery that afternoon for about $200. The salesman said it would work in any position "except upside-down." I told him I didn't have to worry about that. Should have kept my mouth shut!

I have seen some candidates on Craig's list for $500 to $900 with blown engines from the south. I'll probably do that unless one of you guys wants it for parts, let's say $1500, with both sets of wheels and almost new tires. Engine has about 10,000 miles on it, and most of the suspension and steering is new.

Wow man, glad you are ok. I would keep it and build a nice trail rig out of it. Looks like most of the damage was on the roof? Was there any real damage any where else?

By the way, your daughter is really pretty...

Thanks, she would probably sh-t if she knew I put those photo's up, she's shy.

Only the roof, glass, tail-gate, and doors were damaged. I got some suggesting cutting the top off a donor and replacing that. I'm no mechanic, and am really cheap.

Thanks for the concern guys.
