How wide is the flare over stock. I thought i read somewhere that the holigans wernt any wider them tj flares coverage wise?

are these the ones that attach to the rail thing on the side or you drill holes in the roof for the bolts? i'm eying these to start building a roof rack with but not if i have to drill holes in the roof
