XJ ignition for chevy 305?

Can I reuse the ignition system off my 88 40. (coil etc) on a chevy 305?

The Renix ignition needs the rest of the Renix system to be able to function. But it might be possible to figure out how to get the chevy distributor to trigger the Renix ignition module. Or are you just talking about the Renix coil that sits on top of the ignition module?

Wouldn't be worth the time. What are you gonna be runnin. Fuel injection or Carb. You really can't beat a GM HEI, preferably not coil in cap.

Not enough of it to count. Obviously the dist, cap, etc will be worthless. You could make the coil work but why bother? The GM HEI has a nice one built right in the top of it!

HEI hook up is simple, apply 12 volts keyed power to the batt connection and have fun. FWIW, you can also just plug the stock XJ tach lead into the HEI and have a working but inaccurate tach.

Of course a MSD Pro-Billet dist. with a 6-AL would be cool to.....

Or a crank trigger MSD......
