XJ D44 rear truss

that looks real good, but you might want to continue the steel all the way over the diff to give you a nice place to weld link tabs to.

also, you should make a stencil off that tubing before you weld it on, you could probably even sell the stencil for a few bucks as it would sure save a lot of fitment time for people wanting to do the same.
you have no idea ( ok, mabi you do ) the pain in the DI@# that fit up was and i still have some gaps that woll be filled in ( on the truss side ) prior to welding to the axle tube and housing to the truss, i have a shorter piece of 2x2 1/4 tubing i am fitting over the top and tapered on the ends for a cleaner transition, i just havent fit it up yet.

brett that is a good idea about the pattern.

my question to you is where did you put the body side coil buckets on yours? frame or inside the frame ......

oh yah you have the MJ not the XJ

I put the coils as far out as they would reasonably go to make it as stable as possible

i said screw it and just cut the frame short:

i need a better digi cam but you get the idea. 2x4 1/4 wall tubing

Thats pretty sweet. I'm actually thinking about tossing that piece of tubing I bent and going with rec tubing just like you did. I'll use one solid piece tho all the way across.

Thin cardboard I'll use for the template and then I'll transfer the final pattern on to the tubing and use my buddies plasma to cut it all out.

Thanks for the inspiration!! :)

I have a chunk of 2x6x1/4 RT in the garage that I plan to use on the D44 I got.
