WTT: chrome grill for black

i have a chrome grill on my MJ and its the only thing chrome on the truck, so i'd like to swap it out for a black one. if anyone is interested in a trade, or just wants to sell me a black one let me know

Could you not paint the grille black?

My grill used to be Chrome. Rough it up and spray it on.

i thought chrome was bad to paint over? like the paint won't stick right?

Just fyi, some xj's (and mj's?) with the 'chrome package'.... have this little chrome peice on the front clip... so when you goto put a painted (non chrome) grill insert into an otherwise chrome front clip...it doesnt fit right...

Wish i could tell you exactly what the deal was... but its been a loooong time since ive owned a front grill insert. Maybe someone else can specify.

I have one. It doesn't have that strip across the top.

There are two types, one has a long metal strip across the whole front end the other has it in three pieces... the middle piece is part of the grill.

i looked at it and i think mine is a 1 whole piece. looks like painting it will probably be my best option. not sure on the compatibility deal either but i guess painting it is my safest bet. thanks for the heads up

I got a later model the was trimmed to work with a early grille shell. It still has the lower trim piece that can be trimmed to fit better or just let the way it is.

Is yours a 10, 8, or 7 slot grille?

If it is a chrome 10 slot I will pay for shipping both ways to trade.
