I'd like to swap the 231 in my project jeep for a 242, I should have it out of the rig some time this weekend. Just drained the fluid and it was nice and clean, not burnt at all. it has a blown engine so i can't tell you the condition it's it, but i don't feel any slop in it when I turn it and it goes through all gears nice and smooth.
looking to trade for a 242 in good shape, or one that needs a rebuild plus some cash. It's coming out of a 94, so I believe that means it's a 23 spline.
