WTB Neutral Start Switch for 91 4dr. 4.0L

My truck is a 91 4-dr, 4.0L. I'm not sure what the tranny actually is, other then the aluminum stamp plate on it saying AISIN and model #30-43LE, then the actual casting stamp in the side shows # AISIN 8980 8. I'm in need of the Neutral Start Switch. Apparently they decided it would be better to add the reverse light switch inside this unit. My reverse lights are not coming on all the time when needed. You have to mess with the shifter to get a contact. I'm sure it's a matter of time before it simply goes out completely. I'm not sure what effect it will have as a whole on the entire unit. But I do want to replace it and hoping someone has a spare out here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the time and some simple hand tools you should just rebuild yours. I did it to mine and it works great now. much better than spending a couple hundred dollars. It can be a pain to get off the trans sometimes but once removed it is really easy.

All you have to do is remove the screws holding the case together, and then seperate the case halves. Then clean out all the old nasty dielectric grease and sand down all the contacts. Slather some new dielectric grease in there and put everything back together.

To set the switch in the proper position just put the trans in reverse and rotate it until your back up lights come on and then tighten the bolts on the switch.

After I out mine back together I sealed up the outside with some silicone just to keep moisture out. Could have been overkill but I figure it's in kind of a nasty environment, so what the hell...

Here is a write up that has a few pictures: http://http://www.jpmagazine.com/te...eep_cherokee_neutral_safety_switch/index.html

Hope this helps....
