OK where I ws looking for a HP D30 with 4.10's I am now looking for a HP D30 with 4.56 gears to go with my 31's. !!!1
You can PM me with the details. :looney:

Can I just take a D 30 HP off a WJ and bolt it right onto my XJ? :dunno:

NO. Wjs are 3" wider than an XJ. they use CV axles also. I am not 100%, but I dont know if the bracketry will line up 100% -Only IRO makes a u joint axle for them. they are also 5 on 5.

Thanks Jon! I was just wonder'n :variety:

i'm sure you and eric can work something out. payments maybe. it doesnt hurt to ask

Eric sold them both to someone with cash just as i was going to offer payments. Cash talks while payments walk.

There's one for sale in the SoCal chapter right now.

Thank you for looking this is a good axel. At this time I don't want to go with a ARB locker in the front. End goal is to put an E-locker in. And that will be next year as it looks now.
I love the chormo's and stuff though.
The search goes on.
I'm I dreaming to think I can get a HP D30 with 4.56's for $500?

arb > e-locker.
i like my arb's in the green rig.
plus you can fill tires with the compressor used to activate it.
arb for the win.

:farmer:I am thinking that even though I have compressor that I could mount to run the ARB's I like the idea of a locker that has nothing else to depend on but a battery. Silent too is big for me. :shhh:
Maybe just being different is a draw.:dunno:

Noise is not an issue, the compressor doesnt run all the time. Just takes a second to charge the compressor and a second to engage the locker. I dunno if you've done your research yet but e-lockers arent very popular and Eaton isnt known for great customer service. I know my dads close friend just had one installed a few months ago. It wouldn't engage and it was brand new, then Eaton wasn't any help. I cant remember the exact problem but the shop that installed it had to replace most of the wiring.

i broke (read: destroyed :fuse:) my front arb & it was just out of warranty.
i called arb & talked to them about it & they sent me new replacement parts free of charge. that is excellent customer service.
like i said, arb for the win! :yelclap:

I have an e-locker in the front and an arb in the rear. So I can give a fair evaluation of each. They both lock solidly when turned on. But the e-locker is slower to un-lock when turned off. Usually the arb dis-engages as soon as it's turned off. Not always the case with the e-locker, which makes it a pain sometimes on the trail if you're tring to dis-engage to make a sharp turn. But the e-locker is a little easier to install, only because there isn't any copper tubing to bend up inside the case. That's only a minor pain tho, and you'll still have to drill a hole in the case and then run wires, instead of air hose. Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth of info.

Thanks Rob. I will do more research before next year and I install a locker. I just love the idea for a simple locker where you just hook it up to the battery and you are done.
