WTB D44 Drivers side axle shaft

I am running a 78 HP D44 from a Ford Bronco/F150. I am looking for a trail spare Driver's side (short) front axle. Don't care about condition of U Joint as I will be replacing it. Ideally it would be a factory stock axle but if there is a killer deal on an upgrade, I might be interested.

Located in Colorado so it will need to be shipped.

Not a bad deal, but I am an old tight wad and a bit eccentric I guess. I have only busted two front shafts in about 6 years with this axle setup and I am running stock shafts. I just can't see spending that much. I wheel hard stuff but I use my brain more than my foot.

I'm just looking for a stock shaft that someone isn't using any more because they built an axle and bought nice bright and shiny new shafts.

With the money I save, I can spend an extra week in Moab.

This is true! What size tire are you running? I've broken three front shafts in just a few months on 37's. I bought a set of one ton's, but i'm debating on going alloys and seeing if they last, or spending the alloy money on starting the one ton's.

I'm running 35's. My answer would be the same as yours if I was running 37's. There is a point where the extra force caused because of the 37's is too much for the stock axles.
