Wow what a life changer

Welcome back Jason, Glad you're ok.

My father in law is very active and never sits down. He developed a huge clot in his leg that ended up in his lung. Just goes to show that inactivity isn't the only cause of clots.
Did He (and the OP for that matter) manage to get any nasty bruises by chance? A salesman dad knew died because the blood clots from those bruise went to his lungs suffocating him.

None for him. It was completely unexpected. Even the doctors were confuzzled.

Stress, smoker, white male.
Any of them fit?

You could do all the right things and still have a problem. My moms cousin died of a massive heart attack at age 42. Turns out after an autopsy, that he had a congenital heart defect he never knew about. If he had known about it, he would have never been able to play sports or join the military like he did. He was living on borrowed time most of his life without even knowing about it. Sometimes it deosnt matter what you do. Glad youre still here, and hope they find something out for you.

Wow I'm sorry to hear that Grimmus. I'm not sure if this will give you a mood booster but my father has had 3 heart attacks so far.. yes 3. He owns his own landscape and construction business and works like a freakin dog. Its in his blood to work like an animal, every year since I was little he promised he would take it easy and it would always get brushed to the side. He now has extremely high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, arthritis in every joint, a horrible back (chiro every few days), and still has a very high risk for another heart attack.

I've learned one thing from him though, its that no matter what struggles occur in his life he still provides for his family. He is slowly loosing his mind when it comes to work and other things in his life and it brings me down, he tries to act like nothing is wrong as to not scare us.

I hope you are alright man, I really do. Don't let your health issues take you down and out for the count. Others around you care about you, whether its in person or over the computer. If you are anything like my father is you are a damn good man! Just try to stay active, eat healthy and regularly go to a doctor. If you want to talk man shoot me a PM, stay strong and push forward, you have a life to live!

Best wishes Jason. Sometimes you get an unexpected wake up call. Appreciate life and those around you while you have them.

Grim, if you dont mind me asking, what were the symptoms? How did you know you were having a heart attach?

It felt like a fat girl had her knee in my chest and no matter what I did I couldnt make her remove it lol. Seriously it was a steady compression in my chest and it lasted for just over 2 hours. I did know I was having a heart attack, after pain went away I got a shower and came to work. I had been feeling like crap for a couple days leading up to that morning. I thought I had a bad case of the flu or something along those lines, cold sweats pale skin color and lightheaded, were the main symptoms. anyways so when I got to work I called my Doc about 915am and she got me in to see her at 10am so not much times wasted.

When I got to the Doc office she at first diagnosed me with a bad sinus infection and inner ear infection but then we got to talking about the chest pains I had. She called one of the nurses in to hook me up to an EKG machine and the results were well not so good. She told me she thinks I had a heart attack and that I needed to go to the Hospital at which point I said hell no. I am 30 years old there is no way I had a heart attack and refused to go, she talked me into going to at least get some lab results done so I did. She called me about an hour later and said and I quote "You need to take you @ss to the M_____ F______ hospital now youve had a serious heart attack, not no little bitty bullshiat one but a serious like you may F____ die if you dont go". I was like wow ok so I drove myself to the E.R. and caught a helicopter ride to the next town over.

Oh keep in mind that one my Doctor and I are friends outside of a professional level and her daughter and my daughter are best friends, also our town is small that is why I had to get transported.

i had almost the same exact symptoms for about an hour 6 months ago, thought i was getting sick but it felt like more than that. got in to see my family doc 2 days later and sure enough i had a mild heart attack and i'm only 33. so much for booze and fried chicken... well i gave up the fried chicken at least lol

haha could be man, could be. I'm not giving the reaper the finger anymore my invincibility wore off when i hit 31 and hangovers started sticking with me for more than 1 day lol. I'm trying to stay around now long enough to kick my kids out of the house when they turn 18 :D
