Winter Fun Fest who's going?

I hope this discussion can turn just a touch more civil.

Mr. Original, perhaps next year you'd like to remind us about this event before the fees increase in mid-December?

One could consider that every dollar that's not spent on event administration fees (or meals) could be spent on a cause, so the Winter Fun Fest takes potential dollars away from land use issues. If I have $200 to donate, and I 'donate' $85 of that to Winter Fun Fest registration, that only leaves $115 to donate to land use. Certainly the same could be said of the $35 one-year or $45 two-year NAXJA membership.

I'm afraid that you've never met any of us and you're getting a bad impression of us, and we of you. With any luck we can get together for a meet and greet or trail run sometime.

You hold an event (your "snow run") that directly competes with WFF 08', an event that takes potential dollars away from going to a PAC that DIRECTLY benefits all fourwheelers, and I'M THE SMUG ONE?

there are only 52 weekends a year... there are much less weekends that some people have monday off...

every run we plan will counteract some event... that someone else is putting a lot of time and energy into...

First of all, slow way down.

That could hurt! :gee:

Looks like you answered your own question.

But all kidding aside, there is no need to get all but hurt because of this. I am a suporter of CAL4Wheel, I am sure you will have fun at your WFF. Any day out wheeling is better then a day at work!

Let's set the record straight-

I merely pointed out opportunities that the SC has to get more involved in ORGANIZED wheeling. If you can't recognize these as opportunities this I can't help. Much like you can't recognize the fact that I "flamed" no one, attacked no one, and was merely interested in meeting some fellow XJ's. Read the post again, all of it. Who attacked who?

For this I was called smug, pissy, totally tripping, I should buy a clue, made fun of, and generally flamed all over the post. Now I ask you, what opportunities does this present for SC?

Keep on with what you're doing, just count me out. Oh and by the way, if any of you have a clue that I could purchase please look me up, Red 91', confer roof rack, I'll be at this weekends "small time" event, hmmmm... am I challenging any of your obviously tenious manhoods? Or am I Illustrating a point with humor?

Mr. Original, you dropped us a one-liner about an event that apparently a fair amount of us had forgotten or not known about, and then seemed to write us all off because we're not all affiliated with Cal4Wheel, and suggested that it's the only group in California that is working for access and land use issues.

I do appreciate your bringing this run up, but at this point it's no longer really an opportunity for any of us to join in, because other plans have been made, fees have not been submitted, and runs have filled up.

I'm sure some people would be happy to count you out, based on this thread so far, but looking at your previous posts - 3 before this thread? - you haven't really had a chance to be counted in, have you?

I did as you asked and re-read the thread, and you were the one to start it off with your soap box speech and taking a shot at NAXJA:

Hey if NAXJA members don't want to support THE wheeling organization that represents them in Sacramento that's fine, but I for one will.

This one quote just shows that you really don't know what NAXJA is about, check out the Friends Of Fordyce home page:
http://www.fordycetrail.org/

That is just one small part of how NAXJA helps out.

just count me out.
:sure:
Relax, learn to lighten up, don't get all butt hurt because you can't take a little ribbing when it is clear you like to dish it out. Now I can understand why you would want to leave, and be "Counted Out" because your ego might be too big to let you stay. But you may find one day that you do not want to go on the large over "ORGANIZED" wheeling runs and just hang out with a smaller group of wheelers that know what they are doing and don't have to be told.

:conceited

I can appreciate your point of view. But let me ask you this.... Why does the NAXJA Sierra Chapter need to attend a run put on by another club? I am pretty sure the majority of the Sierra Chapter members are here and active because we want to plan and organize our own runs. Plain and simple.

Have a good trip this weekend, don't wear cotton clothes, and stay safe.
