It seems like getting the time off from work won't be a problem, so barring some sort of crisis, I will be there.
And I will bring a loincloth...
And I will bring a loincloth...
No, he doesn't get one, he has to bring his own. You just forgot yours. JIM.
You liked it
edit: due to the high quantity of "rules and requirements" I will likely be running with my own group, and abiding by the rules of the badlands campgrounds...not that I cannot meet the requirements, but I do have a couple guys who can't spend extra money on some stuff...which is why I carry enough gear for me, plus more.
Keep in mind that the small amount of stuff that's required for arun is stuff that just makes good wheeling sense.
We've all been behind a group of people who didn't have recovery gear or recovery points on a trail run waiting. It certainly doesn't cost a lot of money to do it the right way. They should look into spending 50 bucks on that gear instead of 2 cases of beer they're going to have sometime between now and march.
everyone I wheel with has tow points, safe vehicles, properly mounted batteries, and no one uses chains for recovery.
of the 3 people I know that would probably come with, I have enough recovery gear to take care of them in most any situation. I carry two fire extinguishers as well as a hilift and a floor jack I'm building that uses a pneumatic/manual 8 ton ram, so we're covered. by then I should even have my on board air.
basically, I see no need for them to spend their money on any of these things when I have them covered already.
you guys keep mentioning first aid kits. what do those have in them? both my parents are docs so i usually have compression pads, bandaids, suture kit, the little things you break open to wake you up, gauze, tape, pain meds, this universal splint thing. i could probably have them give me enough stuff to perform open heart surgery if i needed to lol.
what else is there though? fire blanket?
Meh. I got a Johnson & Johnson first aid kit at Walmart for ~$10. Contains all brand name sealed stuff; Tylenol, Band-Aid, etc. And it comes in a plastic carrying case with a latch. Can't go wrong.
