Who welded frame stiffeners on their MJ?

I stumbled across this kit yesterday and wondered if the $300 is money well spent on stiffeners for a comanche on 33s. I'm not talking links and 1 tons, but is there enough benefit on an MJ on stock axles? I hear about a thicker unibody and additional bracing compared to XJs, but what do you guys think?

I was / am debating on getting these. But I too wonder what the benefit would be on a Comanche with ~33" tires.

I did see a video recently where a Comanche was driving through a rock pile. He some how managed to "taco" the frame. The rear tires pushed so hard, it bent the frame just after the spring hanger. Forcing the bed up.

Adding some 1/4 or 3/8 plate around the spring hanger I would think would prevent that. I mat do that at the very least.

(I use frame loosely, although past the cab, it is a frame. I know not the orginal condition of the MJ that toco ed the frame, could have already been rusted out, the owner may have been jumping the MJ in the past. In the video notes, they clam to have fixed it. It looked totaled from my POV)

I just got the 10g full set from TM in the mail yesterday. I looked at it briefly this morning before work and it's pretty nice. I've already plated the front of my truck, which I believe everyone should do. I won't be installing mine right away, but considering these trucks are almost all nearly 30 years old and basically spot welded sheet metal it is definitely worth it.

In the process of welding on a full set right now. My unibody has dents and is showing signs of rust.

The fact that the kit is as complete as you can get for an MJ.. Not a bad price, I suppose.

i can only speak to the front portion of the kit, but it welded on very nicely. All the existing holes in the frame lined up well to the stiffeners. invest in lots of c-clamps if you dont have any already. i never realized how many bends the unibody has.

I'll have to get me a set, pulled the bed off mine to sandblast. Was gonna make something like these but this looks alot easier
