The hole is not threaded, just a stamped hole. The rubber plugs always seem to weep a little gear oil all the time. I think maybe they went to the rubber plugs in the D35 when they switched to c-clip, but I'm not sure.

I think they did. My 90 is c-clipped and has that rubber plug.
