I'd consider a WJ, or just buy a pickup or some kind of van instead.
The fj is the most god awful vehicle... it is ifs, plastic, ugly, and toyota.
I agree with you as far as the FJ goes but what is wrong with Toyota? They are probably the best made cars on the road, they are built in America by non-union workers and when you buy one you aren't spending the first several thousand dollars to pay for some lazy, unionized employees health care and retirement. Seems like a good deal to me. The big three auto makes are dead to me until they can pull their heads out of their collective asses.
Pbbbbbftt If I get rid of my XJ it'd be for a 1st gen Tracker, 4Runner, 90's Land Cruiser, or something else that I have forgotten about. The FJ is ugly, expensive, and ugly. I don't care if it's IFS, I wheeled two IFS vehicles before the XJ and both went where I wanted them to, a locker would've been helpful though.
EDIT: Boatwrench reminded me of the TJ Unlimited. I'd do that. Or a TJ and do the AEV Brute conversion...
Your not wheeling hard enough then because there's no way ifs can do what most of us do with our dana 30's.
:roflmao: sorry but that's funny.
H1's have IFS and IRS..
H1's have IFS and IRS..
Yes they do and H1's wheel like dog shit. Yes I have personal experience...
The funny part was
A: this dude telling Darky he doesnt wheel hard.
B: In addition to that he implies he wheels hard with his D30
noebody with a stock toyo ifs going everywhere they want is wheeling hard enough. I've seen too many fail to believe otherwise.
I've taken two dana 30 equiped cars, one early ford bronco 30 and one xj 30, both on 35's through that exact spot on the rubicon from your avatar pic. Its a relatively hard yet fun spot. I guess its more of a pucker factor spot than anything. I'm not saying the d30 is the best, i'm just saying their far more capable than any ifs is. Excluding fords ttb (which is in its own element. And don't come at me with that hmv crap, thats 50+ g's over the chump change we pay for our cars.
