Our local club (www.AustinJeepExclusive.org) is working with a land owner to develop a great piece of property only 35 miles from downtown (near Bastrop). In October, we are doing "work and play" days to finish trails so we can get an event scheduled. No fee, just a little sweat equity. Bring gloves, water, chainsaw or machete if you got it. We spend a lot of time on the trails, and the work is REALLY not hard.
