What's it worth?

98 Jeep Cherokee. Motor is locked up. 180000 miles power windows, locks, A/C, cruise, new radiator. The guy is asking $1000 near me. He turned down an offer for $800. What do you think? I could scrap my 96 and use the motor from it. I also have a 94 and a 91 motor to use if need be. I have not seen the body. He said it's in great shape. I will look for the rust in the common locations and check the drive line components as best I can with no running engine. What are some other area's to look?

I would feel if the body is in good shape with little to no rust then its wroth 1000 bux. is it 4x4 auto? trans work?

look and make sure there is a transfer case in it.

I would think it's worth a grand.

motors are cheap and easy to install, I would give a grand for it if it is not a rust box.

Ok my idea of a good body and his are way off. It had many rock chips with surface rust on the rockers, which I could live with. I opened the passenger door and there was a rot hole the size of a dollar bill in the rocker right where it connected to the pillar. I passed on this one. Trans fluid was also like hand cleaner with a nice pumice feel. Thanks for the replies guys.
