I have a set off my 89 I'll give to you. I could ship them from home in Louisiana or when I come back to work in The Woodlands TX next week bring them with me for pick up. Bushings are good, I replaced my LCAs with aftermarket when I did my lift kit.

i have all of the ones off my 92 you are welcome to as well. they are just laying in a pile next to my garage waiting on time to take them to the scrap yard.

I can parts train it from h-town.

So the p.o. did the caliper flip on the 8.8

Went to get the brakes installed last night and noticed the bleeders were on the bottom instead of the top. So instead of swapping the backing plates side to side like you're supposed to, he just unbolted them and flipped them 180 degrees. Glad I caught that before installing all the brake hardware

Tomorrow, take 2 on setting pinion angle and welding. I may end up installing this thing unpainted. I'm moving on Sunday

Had a little clunk whenever I started after applying brakes. Checked the Caliper bolts. Both tight on passenger side. The bottom bolt on driver side could turn easy. Backed it out had threads of like a helicoil on it. Checked it out and pretty common issue. I bought the helicoil kit for that size and 21/64 drill bit. Any things I need to watch out for or that will make it easier?

Got the mounts burned on the 8.8 today.

Screwed up bending the brake lines. Once I get that right ready to bolt in

Finished making and installing my 2ga battery and winch cables. The Jeep spins over faster and seems to run smoother. Strangely enough my factore volt meter, which always read low, now reads the same as my aftermarket gauge. Used 2/0 welding cable, 3/8ths ring terminals, marine heat shrink and crimped with my 8 ton hydraulic crimper.

The heli coil needs to be flush and do not over tighten the bolt (bit of an art there). Had to do it three times before I got it right on a super heavy (60-80 lbs) direct drive starter on my diesel that is held by the aluminum bell housing . Your may have less trouble with the stainless steel helicoil on steel and steel bolt. Just make sure the coil end is flush on the face. May have been more of an issue for me as it affected the starter gear teeth alignment with the flywheel teeth.

Trying to decide what to do with the gas tank on the 87, 4x4 white jeep.

Helicoil installed nicely. Dilled ,tapped and inserted. Calipers tight now. If anyone has same issue kit came with about 10. Just shout if you need to borrow.

You coming to Houston to visit this month? party1:

Changed the oil and tightened the accessory belt (was squealing a little when gunning it hard) on mine. My move is complete, so gonna start throwing money at the Jeep again soon.

Tore out the old headliner cloth. Only thing holding it up was the sun visor screws and speaker bezels in the back. Any tips on putting a new one in? I know I have to take all the trim out. Thinking about putting a heat barrier/sound deadener on the roof while it's out...

Pull out the backing board, scrub off old foam.

Work from the middle putting the new cloth on. Fold in half, spray glue, lay down, press from center out to work out and bubbles or creases.

Nice hints!!!

8.8 is in. There's a shot of it right before we put it in.

4.56s are pretty amazing, got the jeep moved to the new house.

Next up: fixing the ac, then fixing my headliner, then the front 44 once it cools down a bit

Looks like I am in the market for a very good used or new gas tank and fuel level sensor for the White 4x4, 1987 jeep now. Inside of the old gas tank, the one I finally got the fuel pump out of, looks as sick as the old OEM pump. Pics later when I have more time.

01 Saturn just hit the road today back into DD service after about 9 months being side lined for front end, power steering and rain leak work....
