What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Noticed the Jeep has been slightly over heating in this warmer weather. Pulled the e-fans and radiator has a leak in it. :| Thinkin Ill order a CSF 3 core if those are still good? I got this one from Radiator barn a couple years ago. Tried tinkering with the horns some more too. Still don't work. Confused as to where the relays are for it. Think Ill just have my mechanic buddy fix it for me.
 
My CSF 3 rows (true 3 rows, not the 2 row imitation 3 row) are working great, on is about 6 and the other about 10 years old by now.
 
Finally got the PS pump/hoses etc back in the Saturn, and found the battery died while we worked on it the last 6 weeks. Charging it now. Then a drive to get a 4 wheel alignment done tomorrow.

Just need the AC fixed and 2 new tires on the 89 Jeep before my daughter returns from Michigan to see my son graduate from U of H with a BS in Physics (third generation cougar-engineer-physicist :-) ) on May 15th. He already passed Fraternity life classes there years ago LOL. Then he plans to spend a year in China to finish his minor in Chinese.

87 XJ- 4x4 Wagoneer is working great as my DD last 2 weeks. Still need to solve the mushy brake pedal some day, but the brakes work OK for now.

Close to starting on the Clutch swap out on the 85 diesel Cherokee. Ford transmission passed two days of fluid pressure tests in the driveway.

Some of my recent weekend shopping Snap-on Ebay MT-2500 parts buys from Ebay are in route. In a week or two I should have everything for 87-1998 jeep scanning including the AW4 transmissions. If anyone ever needs a high tech scan, beyond just codes...etc let me know. The MT-2500 I am told can even test components one by one. Way beyond just a code scanner. And it will do OBD-1 and Renix rigs once I have all the pieces.

Had to pay $80 delivered for a damn steel wheel for the Saturn off ebay. They seem to be curb magnets and get damaged way too easy. Nearly impossible to find them now. I still need some spares if I can find any. Or a spacer set up so I can mount my spare Jeep wheels on it LMAO. :sunshine:

But good luck every getting the front end lined up.
 
Nice looking tires, and way too clean and white for MUD LOL. Is that fresh paint?

castor is set, track bar is set, went through and tightened everything in the front.

put the rear shocks on, tightened the rear suspension down.

only thing left to do is the extended brake lines, trim the fenders, and trans cooler and she will be ready to ride. brake lines might end up being tricky since the fronts were siezed into the soft line but i have a couple things im going to try before i cut/reflare the hardlines.

this little amount of flex had it into the fenders already haha. definitely have some cutting in my future.

I got my CSF 3 core like 10 years ago or so. I've heard the new ones aren't as good but that is like 3 year old info.

Haven't heard recently if they are good. I think I got mine from the Radiator Barn or something. Want to say they are from Florida.
 
Platigaged some of the mains not all because they were pretty consistent between the back three. Slightly wider strip than.002 clearace so the sould be around .0018 or so. Checked the tourqe on all the rods and mains and all was good. Just have to finish buttoning everything up. Dang honey do's keep kicking my butt. "Hey can you get cleaned up and..."

Dantheman those tires look nice on your rig what size are those? Been looking at the same set just have to save some coin and get the parts to add about 4" to mine first.

Econmike that snap on setup sure sounds interesting sure would like to be able to read all the info and see where everything is on this rig. I use torque on my phone and it gives a little info on the jeep but not a lot, better than a lot of handheld scanners but not close to what you have.
 
Ecomike, its been painted in the last couple years. It was hit in the front before I got it. That frame clamp thats on the passenger side is so I can pull the damage out. Real shoddy repairs.

Jeez, I must be living in the twilight zone, LOL, I only spend $450 ea for my last 2 jeeps I bought LOL. One was running and needed a $60 MC, the other needed a $35 fuel pump. They both came with 4 tires, LOL.:laugh:

Of course one was flat and they were all dry rotted OEM size... LOL.

I am freaking out that I just spend $200, $30 at a whack on Ebay to gather the odds and ends for a complete snap-on scanner package.....but I need some way to get better data, especially on the transmissions.
 
Anyone done the quarter glass replacement before?

Haha yea i had saved up a good chunk specifically to buy /build a Cherokee. Was weird buying a jeep then plopping out twice what I paid for the Jeep in mods. I've never modded anything this way. Usually I get it and slowly mod stuff as I went.
 
Still waiting on my head light harness stuff, but the Saturn Wheel arrived today well packaged.

On the Renix Jeep scanner, Snap-on MT-2500, some of the ebay buys are starting to dribble in each day,, It will be another week before I have everything I bought. I got in deep, about $300 spent already, but I am trying to cover 96 Fords, Renix Jeeps and a 2001 GM-Saturn for starters. The OBD-II stuff was costly, about $180 extra.

Got the bare MT-2500 brick in nice shape for $70 and about $60 for 1990 era Renix coverage.

Still need the power cables, battery eliminator... stuff, I think, or maybe not.

May need another $100 in cartridges to handle the 2001 saturn :( Did score a 1999 transmission troubleshooting cartridge that covers 1983-1999 transmissions (just need the right primary cartridge year to cover the vehicle and year. :-) for under $40 :-) :yelclap:

Most of the cartridges are backwards compatible, unless the label lists a range, but are not likely to be forward compatible. The newer cartridges are more expensive, but a complete Renix-OBD-I package can be had for about $150 now days. Add about $40 for a transmission troubleshooting cartridge.

Got most of the pdf manuals and hard copy Jeep manual :-)

Hard to believe I spent almost as much for this as I did my last Renix jeep LOL.

The real killer was spending $80 on a stock steel wheel for the Saturn :(

Damn curbs should be illegal with out flashing warning signs for out kids, LOL.
 
Put a set of EBC brakes on the heep. They feel 100x times better than the crap they replaced.
 
anyone want any of the stock suspension parts that came off my 92? springs, control arms, track bar etc. its free if you are in houston, im not shipping any of it. will also have a front bumper and the fender flares soon.

otherwise im going to scrap it all.
 
Nice Chrome bumper perhaps? That will fit Renix era jeeps?
