What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Tomorrow when I finally remove everything I'll take more pics.

So far my backing plate, caliper, rotor and u-joint all show a bit of gouging. So far without having everything off, I don't see anything too damaged to keep. I do plan on new rotors and pads though

Replaced steering box and primed hydraulic system.

Replaced rear brake line from body to axle with extended Quadratec unit I purchased about 5 years ago, removed brake line relocation bracket. Bled entire brake system.

Identified broken front bar pin, replaced left rear shock.

Bought the wrong air filter.

Tomorrow it's the oil, remaining rear shock, air filter, drive it to town and get some fresh gas. If I have time I'll weld up the front frame braces, wash the undercarriage to try to identify where my transmission is bleeding from.

I drove the xj today and picked up some boudin at a specialty coonass store in Austin. Ready for rom.

Discovered leaking hydraulics. Repaired.

Replaced air filter.

Discovered leaking oil filter bracket. Damnit I hate those.

Changed oil and filter.

Replaced bar pin on front right shock.

Replaced right rear shock.

Topped off tranny.

Tightened steering.

Drove to town to get some fresh gas and holy hell, if you haven't experienced death wobble on 35s and a 3 link front suspension you've never lived. So I guess the steering box wasn't the culprit...

The steering on this piece of excrement is ticking me off. It's had death wobble off and on since a month before I lifted it originally in 2002. The only steering component unchanged since then is the steering wheel.

Guess you know the culprit then, time for a new chain steering wheel.
Today I helped Will pull his rear drive shaft

ironed out some of the electricals in the parts rig, got the rear lights to work and changed out the fuses to the proper ones (someone put 25's in everything) and swapped the flasher so I'm good to drive it at night.

Thread the rear of the three bolts back in about half way, leave the socket on it, the wedge something between the inner c and the socket, I usually us an extension. Then turn the steering wheel, make the power steering do the work, I hope that made sense.
