Is that the low profile square one?

Added a coalescing filter to the OBA setup today. Should eliminate the oil in the discharge.

And by keeping an eye on the amount of oil that accumulates in the filter bowl, I should know when it's time to add oil to the compressor.

Same oil i always run 5w30 Valvoline next gen, only has low idle issues on startup when its cold, same thing it did last winter lol

Okay, i was wondering if you had a thick oil in it or something. Mine would run pretty bad and knock sometimes when it got down to around 30° outside so i switched to 5w-30 for the winters and it cured it. But you've already done that. Hmmm, what oil filter do you run? The k&n on mine says it keeps the oil from all flowing back after shutoff to prevent dry starts. Also, any codes?

I run wix, and its an 88 so i can't scan it, but no codes that i know of...

I'm betting on her being old and cranky

I hate wix. Ran one on our work truck one time, and for the duration it caused a valvetrain tap. Changed back to another kind and it went away. They're expensive but you might try the k&n. Ac-delco is a good cheaper one too, just won't have that no drainback feature.

A block heater may be of help too. Just a thought if she doesn't like the cold that much.

I really didn't "wheel" but I did some exploring of roads to the lake. Took a look at col. Dodge rd and didn't feel like getting stuck in mud hole with some hill billy in an s10 driving by every few minutes.

Valvoline is not a good oil to run. Add some MMO to the oil, then run the engine at 4000 RPM in park for aboout 2 minutes. If it is making noise on a cold morning start let it warm up the oil, then do the 2 minutes at 4000 rpm trick and it will unstick the lifters and get thhem rotating again. Cold oil temps tend to precipitate wax/varnish carbon deposits that makes the lifters stick. My 87 was terrible, on cold mornings or long periods just sitting being worked on it would would souns like it was going to blow. Been 7 years now and about 70,000 miles and it rarely does it any more. New valve stem seals and straightening the rockers on my #1 and #2 cyls, helped earlier this year, helped some too, as the rockers were side loading some valve stems and just needed realigning the rocker-pivot...

So i have 2 cans of pb blast, and i have started the long process of spraying the hardware holding my Trans crossmember and tomorrow i start spraying the tranny. Hopefully in a few weeks when i drop the Trans to replace my clutch (and the rest of the kit) everything goes smoothly and nothing breaks. (cross fingers)
