What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

sounds like a ujoint.

I'd check the ujoint at the tcase end. I was having a similar noise on my 94 and I found this:

put a new Epco billiard ball style shift knob on the Jeep today. Love how these feel compared to the stock AX15 knob... lot more weight to them and they throw perfect.

I'm broke from Vegas so probably wont' be doing much for a bit. I really want to fix the headliner. Might hit the yard and just see if I can find a good one.

one day left.....the dana 44 swap from a d 35 has been a challenge to say the least . everything that could go wrong has , the trip to trees ranch looks grim. i never knew how much my patiens could handle ......im going to finish the challenge and live to tell the story ....i hope . mini spool new gears new bearings all around new brakes new wheels and a partriage in a pear tree ! dam it hurts!

I don't remember, they were from O'Reilly's. They had snap ring/collar thing that went on the inner part of the joint to keep them from sliding out. Ive never seen joints that were this easy to take out or install. I guess the ring didnt stay.

Went and picked the rear bumper back up. Someday I'll get it stretched and mounted and put on the XJ. In the mean time I'll try to figure out how to cut it, stretch and mount it without any tools. :(

Yeah they shouldn't be easy to do. Spicer is really the way to go on ujoints.

i drove my jeep to whataburger. ate a bacon cheeseburger, then bought $280 worth of parts off ebay for my wagon... i really need to get my 4x4 swap done, or i'll end up sinking all my money into the wagon.

Been hunting down wiring problems. Went out and tried to start it, heard one click, then nothing after that and now the dome light, dash lights, door locks, pretty much everything doesn't work or come on. I have no idea what could be wrong. The transmission controller or whatever is bolted under the right side of the dash was unplugged but I don't think that affected this. I am about to consider scrapping the heap :bawl:.

Sounds like a dead battery or corroded clamp contacts, or bad starter solenoid on the starter. No the TCU has no effect.

I think you're probably right. I'm planning on checking it out tomorrow hopefully. Today is dedicated to football.
