What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

i used a electric power washer to get most but it looks like im going to have to start scrubbing.

there was already a strong rain also lol.

it was good wheeling with you and tell you dog hello for us lol.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

Getting the red out? Wash it hard and the stuff left behind use rubbing compound. My wife's was white too and it was hard to keep it that way.

What did I do to mine?

I held the new banner up to the back window to size it up. Can't decide to put it up front or on the back.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

well yesterday i got a bit more mud cleaned off, and started working some of the dents out, got all the remaining fender flare brackets off and began to clean the mud out of the inside

Gears also came in, so im trying to find someone to teach me how to do them.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

I am about to order some new gears for my rig as well. I am going 5.13's this time around though I think. I think I will also be getting a spool for the rear. LOL

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

Well I have to admit I was thinking about 5.38's..... I mean either way I gotta buy gears, i may as well go all the way with it. It is mostly going to depend on whether or not I can get my hands on a D44 rear. I don't have the cash to get new shafts for either of them just yet, but I do believe the front and rear will be trussed very soon though.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

justin i might hit our local pull a part today-ill look for a 44 rear they usually have a great selection of cherokees

id hope i could find one for you, then i might lure you up here to teach me some gear setup ha!!!

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

If you can find one for me, and the price is right, I will make the trip, and teach you to set up gears.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

no luck on the d44 for ya-but ill keep my eyes out. Im more interested to learn how to setup gears than anything else-id probably buy you a d44 for that ha!

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

The local yard here has a housing, but somebody else beat me to it and took the shafts. The housing is $100, which I think is too much.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

i cleaned mine today got all that damn gilmer mud off of it. well most anyways.
i also built a new wiring harness for the wipers they work great on high and low just no auto return. but atleats they work also move my elec fan to a diff toggle.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

well, callin it a night. got most of the things finished on the Jeep that i wanted to; replaced a/c condenser and charged, got cold air now!!! valve cover gasket, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, oil and filter. tomorrow i will do the trans fluid and filter, and rear brakes, repair reciever hitch, start on winch mount. yep, that about sums it up!!

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

removed and reinstalled the head due to a bad gasket! big job but everything went smoothly, I used a cherry picker and lifted the head with both manifolds still installed. simply unplugged the fuel rail and laid off to the side, same with the A/C compressor. freshened up the valve train while i was in there, lapped in the valves using a cordless drill on low speed and some water based lapping compound. I made a valve spring compressor with a big C clamp and tack welded on a notched out socket, worked like a charm! all is back together, and I now have beau coup compression that I never realized was missing! overall hard work, but well worth it!
