The groaning noise ended up being the transfercase, which is fixed now. I don't believe I had any noises from the rear end.

Oh I could have sworn that you had issues from a 8.25 for a while. Regardless, you definitely do now.

Any ideas on how I toasted some new Timken pinion bearings?

Well the pics make it look like your pinion is pointed up. Do you have bad springwrap like me? You could be getting oil starvation up there.

Yeah, I think I have plenty of that going on. I have 1" lift shackles in the back, do I need to point the pinion down a little bit? Once the Subaru sells its time for frame stiffeners, new springs in the back, an anti wrap bar, and Lojack.

Lojack is old tech and doesn't work everywhere.

We just switched to it instead of Lojack at my dealers

In addition to stolen vehicle tracking you get an app where you can track it, know if it moves while you're parked, geofence it, etc.

Forester is gone. Just waiting on my buddy to fix my rear diff, then it's getting frame stiffeners, rock sliders welded to the frame, drivers side rear leaf spring, an anti wrap bar for the rear, and relocated rear shock mounts.

yes, and no.

Got a xj D44 and a newer nonCAD front D30 to put in when I do the TnT longarms. And a 231 with an sye. The motor is currently running like garbage though

Lol, I gave that cluster to a kid and he ran down the street spinning the gauges. It's trashed now

Was driving home today in my 2000 4.0 auto and had to stop to a crawl and get towed home . All of a sudden loud banging type noise? If I slowed to 10 MPH it drove fine... little noise...after that faster much more noise. Drove fine no wobble of such. Brakes worked fine and had no affect on the noise.
In neutral or stopped in gear engine running no noise. What should I look for? Glance under and ujoints and such all look good. Maybe diff? Seems like coming from front but not sure. What are the symptoms of blown wheel bearings?

Any suggestions I need to get fixed before the 5th and the Ozark Rally

I thought that wheel bearings growled when they went bad, not clunked. Have you opened the front diff?
