What is this???

All home made... Welding cable, QuickCable Fusion Solder Connectors, and adhesive lined heat shrink tubing in red and black to differentiate positive and negative. Some of the pre-made sets are nice, but building them yourself allows you to make them the exact length you want so the bends all end up exactly where you want them.

Exactly what and how I made mine last year. 2GA and 4GA welding cable, and beefed up all the grounds and converted over to marine terminals as well. In addition I made a little junction box that all of my auxiliary stuff runs too (rack lights, bumper lights, and CB). Each of which have a 30A fuse in the box in addition to the glass fuses that came with each product. I then have 1 power wire out of the same welding cable as my other connections running to the battery. Like this set up MUCH better....had too much stuff running to the battery and it looked awful. Not to mention any bit of corrosion that forms on the terminals tends to eat the 12-16GA wire up in a heart beat.

Probably one of the best things i've done to the Jeep in a long time was to get rid of the crappy factory battery cables/grounds and do the upgrade.

X2.

My current 99 and old '99 have that canister there, as well as my dad's '01.

Since some say they don't have it in their '98, I'm going to guess its a '99+ thing.

I have a pair of '99's. One with and one without the pump.
