What is this bolt/plug on the AW4?

The Taco has a plug, as in an electrical plug?

Yes. Some sort of 2 wire sensor. Was focusing more on what I have to do to make the tailhousing work so I haven't dug into it yet. But started to worry about if it will be an issue. Once I pull it I will post up.

Haha! Started thinking and realized it must be some sort of temp sensor so started searching assuming that.

Copy and paste two parts of URL. Wouldn't work as one link

Sure enough it is an ATF temp sensor for an idiot light.

I am fairly certain that it is the bolt in front of the ID tag on the passenger side. At least that is what the ATSG manual shows on page 9.

I'm curious if anyone has used this plug for their sender successfully?

when i had an AW4 the probe was mounted the front driver side corner of the pan, as there is nothing inside the pan at that location allowing for the probe to function without interfering with trans internals, kind of like shown by a previous poster just farther forward.
