and so where in all that i broke one fan and pushed my R bumper up not to much damage

I had no idea that there was an event at 4 wheel parts this weekend.... that sucks cause I was out driving my XJ around yesterday and was at 1960 and 249 for a bit, I could have kept cruzing down and caught all this :-(

when is there next event? is there a flyer or email thing we can signup for?

but your pics are cool, but man you tore your bumper clean off! :-) looked like fun!

do they still have the flex ramp out front?

How was the bumper mounted? I would have thought it would hold up through that too. I am not trying to be mean or anything at all. It just worries me. I mean I have bounced my bumper off a lot worse stuff than that while wheeling, and it has never so much as wiggled.

It was mounted to the 3 stock mounting holes. It had been ripped off before and then bubble gum welded back on.

Sorry to say this Chris, but that is proof the your welds are not good and wont hold up at all.

its was not the welder it was the crappy welding machine

Ok so we have used the same welder... Lincon 3200 HD (Jay's welder).

You told me you can step on your rock slider and it will break off. I SLAMMED my rock sliders and front bumper into alot of things this weekend and not even one crack in a weld. Not to mention I had a 400+ pound guy at work jump up and down on the sliders They did not even move. I did think my Jeep would tip over though.

Trust me.. its your welding NOT the welder.

Well last time he was welding we sang a song about it...

"Chris can't get no penetration... but he tries and he tries..."

Its cool Chris, it just takes pratice and patience. Oh and knowing how to weld correctly like welding tip angle, speed to weld at, wire speed and things like that.
I mean almost anyone can get 2 pieces of metal to stick together... but to make them hold is another story all together.

ok crack haed again to far it was not jay welder so get off my ass secondly kurk ur welds dont look any better u just grinded the crap out of ur. plus that welder fis loike jay's vits not gas and it is a mig. note not gas migs r 4 lite doty work and not for good stranth. when u do not use gas there is no shild to keep the weld cool. so the wheld gets to hot to fast and then cools down to fast. and not to michen there r to difren tipes of metal one bing stanless and the other bing just what some call just regler stil.

so why don't some of yal go read a book or take a class or some thing.
