What do you do for a living?

my dad is an RV dealer. he has 3 dealerships here in arkansas. 2 in little rock and one in hot springs. it does seem to be a frustrating job but he doesnt seem to have any financial problems. hes always had nice vehicles and homes and vacation homes and things like that. in my opinion, the stress would be worth the lifestyle. ive always dealt with stress very well. it never has had a huge affect on me. i can keep my head and deal with it. i see my dad as stressed out, but very financially stable. plus the idea of owning a jeep dealership almost gives me a chubby. lol

Well, seems like taking over the family business would almost be too easy. You could always add a sideline of selling used Jeeps. The only good ones these days are used anyways.

well the deal is. he is about to retire. im still in school. he has a deal worked out with another RV dealership to buy him out. but keep the same name. hes still going to have his foot in the door for i think 5 years to see that it doesnt go under but after that its pretty much gone. he doesnt like to talk to me about being in business for myself, probably because he doesnt want me to see the same headaches he has. but im in school for business management because thats exactly what i want to do. the idea of sittingi n a cubicle for the rest of my life sounds like a terrible idea.

1. Please capitalize the start of each new sentence.

2. Sounds like you should communicate better with your dad before you lose this opportunity.

3. Cubicles are the devil, avoid them like the plague. Office Space is non-fictional.

x4.

I am going to guess that an RV dealer is much different than a Automotive dealership. The size of the market, the market share, and the age of the consumer would me much different. But I would say that you are probably a few years too late to start talking with your dad. If taking over the family business was an option, I think you should have started working there 10 years ago...but you should be talking to him, use his knowledge, he will look out for your best interest. The older you get the more you realize your parents were right all along and you should have listened more closely to what they had to say.
But hey, I love my cubicle it makes me feel safe and warm, even when I have a case of the Muundays.

In my cubicle, have a picture of my dog and my jeeps (I think I have one of my wife around here somewhere, maybe under this pile of drawings...) But I never feel safe, its like someone is always watching.

In my cube, I've a picture of my XJ on route 666 (in Shiprock, NM) before they changed the number designation.

BTW...

I've a BS in Chemistry and I do Environmental Regulatory Compliance and I'm a certified hazardous materials manager. Although I feel like an over-worked janitor somedays.

Cool, a good field.

Your first assignment is to learn how to spell it. You wouldn't want to be the butt of the single most overused inside joke in the profession :D

PS: I don't have a degree, never needed it.
