What did you do to your XJ today

I dont get it lol. I had a friend pick it up off a guy in Lake Stevens... and who's muddy beast?

First time posting pics...hope it goes okay...

Finished up my roof rack. All that is left is to do some sealing on some blow through while welding, weld it on, and add my lights.

finished painting. i do a lot of hunting, so i wanted a hunter orange look., but wanted it a burnt or dark orange. i like how it turned out.

close up of rear view and connections. The frame was MIG, and the cage was TIG welded together, then TIGed to frame at every point. tedious. i would MIG it to frame if i was gonna do it again.

Side view close up

I wanted to go with a low profile rack. I will have some attachment points for an axe and shovel. possibly a farm jack. No spare up top- I built a swing out for that for the bumper i built.

I have four tabs for lights to be installed. two facing forward, and two angled to either side.

close up of my light tabs. also you can see how it is goinng to be attached to my rain gutter (gonna weld it on)

Wanted to give a look at the low profile. my swing out has a platform above the spare that i made, which has a place to place on either side for two jerry cans for fuel. I used thinner wall tubing to save weight (big mistake), and because of this, there is a lot of movement- I am trying to think of a way to attack it to the roof rack for better stability.

anyway, I really like how it turned out, and am please with the overall look and available storage/room for long hunting trips.

Looks like you built something that will work great for your needs and last a long time! Building your own stuff is a good feeling :eeks1:

Used baling wire to attach my brake caliper. Seem to work better than zip ties.

Washed mine found two small dings plus some rock rash on one of my wheel and a hub. Not to bad for first time out with bronco axles on firebreak and cider tree. Found that my power steering pump is going out and inneed of a cooler. And I need to swap to the e350 master cylinder.
