ROFL!!! I needed a good laugh. That's awesome. I was going to buy a bumper from JCR but this bumper I found just as I was about to place my order. I got it for 430 shipped to me. Couldn't beat that. Personally I think it's one of the best looking bumpers out there and it doesn't obstruct any airflow to the radiator.

I really like this style of ORFAB bumper more than the tube style that that have/had.
Good find!

Thanks... Also I have to apologize for my price quote on that bumper. While I never got an invoice from an online retailer for the 3500 I just spent with them so its hard for me to quote exactly what I paid. However 4X4 group buy is advertising 555 shipped. I got a small discount for an issue that was not resolved with a first generation Smitty Built XRC8 winch. 540 shipped must have been what it was. I was 100 off.

Got my bumper and winch on.

Wow, that is one sexy XJ. Bumper looks sweet... What diameter is the grill guard tube? It looks larger than most I've seen, I like it. Do you know the name of your paint color by the way? I don't think I've ever seen an XJ that color before but it looks great.

IN (for the work party)
...also I have a tint guy if you need one.

Who's your tint guy? I'm wanting to get tint done soon with the weather getting so nice and warm these days...

Haha... I already love my current color scheme, it's my favorite for the older XJ's... but if I were ever to buy a late model I think I would want one the color of Sneaky's rig.

I'm planning on keeping this XJ around more or less forever, so eventually I probably will want to repaint the whole thing... until then I think if we just redo the silver trim it'll look a lot better.

The color is Chili Pepper Red Pearl. The color is pretty cool. How it looks is really dependent on the light. Here it is on a cloudy day.

I finally put my stock fender flares back on today! (Also pulled off the silly door guards as you'll see in the pix).http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/Bl...tml?sort=3&o=4

The previous owner had taken them all off, as well as cut the original studs off the flare mounts. :bawl:

For the past couple weeks I've been taking the original mounts and drilling the studs out, putting 'new' studs back in and trying to re-mount them. Not to mention scrubbing all the flares and giving them a fresh coat of rattle-can flat black. Topped it off with a few shades of clear coat and called it good.

Well to my surprise it didn't quite work out the way I wanted it to. At first, I just put a new 10-24 screw threw the drilled out stud, and tightened a nut on the backside of the flare mount. Added some threadlock and gave it a try. Well it turns out that the stupid nut I put on, didn't allow for enough clearance and when I re-installed them, they would not sit flush against the fender. Sucks for me.

So anyways, I took all the nuts back off, and JB welded the screws on to make my own studs....PITA. After trying it once (I didn't wait long enough for the JB weld to hold and spun a 'stud' about 1/2 way through installing one flare), I gave the JB weld PLENTY of time to cure, and today I gave it another try.

IT WORKED! Finally, I have the stock flares back on the XJ. It just didn't look 'finished' to me without them, I'm glad to have them back on for sure.

It just looks so much more 'finished' to me. Don't get me wrong, I've thought about those Napiers, but the budget is against them right now, plus the beast isn't lifted yet.

Oh yeah, forgot that I picked up some new wheels/treads last week. I guess they are wheels from a 2001? Cherokee...painted black with that 'tool handle spray', and the tires are like new, Destination A/Ts. Much better now.

So, that's what I did today!

I can't believe my son. He took on the task I have been putting off for months. Scrubbing the Jeep. I stood there in shock when I got home. Very impressive.

Been spending money in guns lately and occasionally taking the Jeep out to get her dirty where we go shooting. Only thing new is a couple large ammo cans I picked up for rear storage.

Working two jobs and going to school. was fun. Now that it is over, I can focus on work and get some sh!t done around the house.
