What did you do to your XJ today

Going to change out the oil, got the napa filter already, just waiting to get off work to change it. Going to pick up the replacement return hose for the steering box from autozone, hopefully this weekend I can get the boxes swapped, thinking this is going to be easy but I've been proven wrong so far....... Lol

Thanks guys! My XJ isn't the most capable trail machine, but it is a reliable daily driver and weekend warrior - it's my only vehcile! I feel confident taking the logging roads for 30 miles, backpacking into the wilderness for a few days, and knowing I'll be coming home safely when I return to my Jeep! For the last 5 years I make the 6 hour drive south for NWF, hit the trails all weekend, keeping up with moderate crew, then drive back home to Canada.

Here's where that deactivated forest service road got me and my wife last weekend:

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Wow, those are amazing. I have always wanted to snow camp. My girlfriend and I do a lot of car camping in the summer (one of the main reasons I bought an XJ), it's fun but I'd like to start exploring some more remote places where there aren't always 500 other people around.

sure thing! one more, I can't resist, it was a wonderful weekend and looking at these is more appealing than doing my work...

Wow! Even a couch? Only the two of you? Looks like enough gear for at least four. I do a bit of snoe shoeing and back packing myself and my pack normally weighs around 45 to 50 pounds and I've never had all those goodies along. Lol:)

Our packs were 35 lbs (hers) and 45 lbs (mine). We planned to climb the peak in the background, Mount Garibaldi, but we hit snow 8k and 2500' lower than anticipated, which doubled our approach hike. Original plan had us camping at the far end of the ridge in the photo above, by the black fin and the glacier on the shoulder of Garibaldi. But that's a good 4k further and we were too tired to make that and the alpine 4am departure the next morning so we just enjoyed ourselves in the shadow of a future climb!

That little aluminum shovel is a must have, we dig a bench every time and use the rainfly and sleeping pads to sweeten it up a bit. But you're right, we had some extra gear, didn't need our axes, rope, or harnesses since we didn't get into the steep stuff.

Absolutely Stunning Vista....thanks for that...

Bought this.

And retired my Cherokee from daily driver duty forever. It is now officially a toy again. Well, I have said that before and had to place her back into service once before. But this time should really be forever.

Purchased 40Lbs of 3/8" plate, And then a 2'x2' Square of 3/16" Plate..

Will it turn into anything.. We'll see :dunno:
