What did you do to your XJ today

Installed my switches for my rear locker. I left room to the right for the front when I get it.

Finally finished installing some steering goodies: Durango steering box with Iron Rock Offroad spacer and brace, and the IronMan tie rod and fresh draglink I bought from Bronzewyrm.

First impressions based on just driving to work today is that it's a HUGE improvement. The steering feels much more direct, especially at low speeds. The Durango box provides a bit more assist than the XJ box did and I believe the ratio is slightly quicker. Feels like I could parallel park on a dime now! :D I'm very impressed with the Iron Rock and IronMan stuff, all of it is super beefy. The IRO outer brace is only $25, which is a crazy bargain considering it's 1/4" steel with nice powdercoating and included all the necessary grade 8 hardware. If anyone needs a steering brace I would definitely recommend it.

I still need to do some fine tuning, namely centering the steering wheel. Wondering if I should get the alignment checked as well? I didn't mess with the toe so I assume if it was set properly on Bronze's rig it'd be the same for mine... then again, I've assumed my alignment was OK in the past after installing parts that I didn't think should affect it, and ended up replacing tires prematurely...

FYI its probably going to melt that carpet, unless your only using it for an air locker. It might be okay then.

Air locker only. I'll trim the carpet if need be. I knew it would get hot like my Viair when filling tires. However I have never had air lockers but I was thinking it would only kick on for a very short time and not very often when used.

Yeah it should be around every 10 to 15 minutes, for an air locker. Mine ARB had a leak for the longest time. I finally decided to track down where it was leaking. But it was a bitch to get it to stop leaking. It was leaking at the at the quick fill fittings for airing up. I finally just red loctited them together.

Done deal, it hardley comes on now, and it fills the air line for the air locker in half the time.

Replaced all my seats in the XJ and detailed the inside today. Way more work than I thought it would be but man it's a whole lot nicer now and comfy. :)

I wish I could be up there^^!!!
I just installed a Flowmaster 40DF/cat delete with all new 2.25" piping and tinted my taillights yesterday. She sounds beastly..!!! Changing the oil today (Rotella 15w/40) w/ Fumoto plug, new ground for FW to head stud/ and then having 5% Limo put on all around. Should be exciting...
