What did you do to your XJ today

Easy job just time consuming... But it can be done in half a day if your focused

Prop the rig up on large jack stands and let the front axle droop.
Drain the oil & Pull the starter
Drop the 20ish 11mm bolts and 4(?) 13mm bolts to drop the oil pan
Pull the last bearing cap and use a small punch to tap the seal out of the block (screw driver can break a chunk of the journal.. Use caution!)
Slide the new one in and make it fit flush
Replace the lower peice in the bearing cap
Replace the cap & torque to spec (80ft/lbs iirc)

Put it all back together and viola!


After 3 weeks, My oil-pan is finally re-installed :smsoap:

Nice. Mine has fresh intake gaskets.

I was super productive today. Helped Eric fix his exhaust wired my oba installed my washer bottle and drive shaft. Then Eric and I took it for a spin and found that it drives pretty damn well
 
After replacing 13 fuel system O-rings and new injectors

I found 2 more I forgot.. About 40 miles from civilization
 
I pulled my bone stock 1989 2 door 4.0 5 speed xj out of my friends yard where it has been resting for 5+ years should have it towed to my shop soon to start working on it
