What did you do to your XJ today

Lessee, long and glorious list:

  • Finished the passenger front window regulator install, and closed eveything back up. Works, check!
  • Found my missing ambient air temp sensor lines which had been cut in the front end collision by PO. Installed a new harness at that point, and a new air temp sensor. Works, check!
  • Pulled the back inside cover off the liftgate and was able to get into the mechanism and get the liftgate unlatched. Adjusted the liftgate mechanism, and tested with keys, power locks, et al. Works, check!
  • Installed the battery temp sensor the right way. PO had left it rolling around under the battery tray.
  • Been dorking with this in the yard so much, charged the battery while I was working.
Remaining issues:
  • Wonky oil pressure sensor.
  • Road-worthy lights and turn signals.
  • Power window cut-off switch (see other thread).
  • Get some damn use out of the thing!
Missing anything?

Well today I wheeled my xj bent my fenders up with the tires and riped off the front flares but got hella flex from the front end and the jeep performed verry well today at walker

- I drove the Stocker to the fair Saturday afternoon.
- Drove it to the Tuff Truck pits later that evening.
- Goblazers_6 took off my ignition coil to put on his rig to test it.
- Goblazers_6 reinstalled my ignition coil.
- Bigpimpinben removed my CPS sensor.
- Goblazers_6 reinstalled my CPS sensor after noticing the plugs were different between Jeeps.
- Bigpimpinben removed my distributor (I had a gut feeling this was a bad idea).
- The teeth on my distributor promptly self clearanced when installed into Simple Green.
- Bigpimpinben had to remove my now trashed distributor from Simple Green with a prybar.
- The Stocker, which was now a non-runner, stayed in the pits for the night.
- One stop for a 30 pack and a Digiorno later, Dellstopjeep, Goblazers_6, and, I were at the Dellstopjeep residence for the morning.
- Today Dellstopjeep, Dellstopjeep's Wife, Goblazers_6, and I drove back to the fair with a spare distributor for the Stocker.
- It was different.
- The four of us piled back into Dellstopjeep's Wife's Jeep, and headed over to Portland to pick up a new distributor.
- A few hours and no accidents later, we were back at the Fair.
- Goblazers_6 installed the new distributor.
- It was a successful install on the first shot.
- TORX was able to leave the Fair under his own power again almost 24 hours later.
- The Stocker now has a pristine remanufactured distributor!

What a pleasant weekend.
