Currently replacing the oil filter adapter o ring(done), changin the oil, replacing hub bearing, valve cover gasket, degreased the engine, might try and install the disconnects if I determine I have all parts needed, por-15'ing the floors, replacing my front skid, fixing my rear brake pads that were put on backwards(BPB), and then lastly, gonna yard the tcase to fix it.
Picked up my 4.5 bds lift today. Not putting it in today, but picked it up.....and its in my jeep...in the back......so that counts. And i put gas in it. Thirty dollars to be exact.
Poop my 95 has no rack either but I noticed one time while washing it I had a small leak in the left upper corner of my year old windshield so I just dont spray water there.
I have swapped tires and steering and cranked down on my Jonny joints and I still have wicked DW so Im going to swap my old worn out LCA's back in and see if its just the jonny joints that my rig doesnt like.
Had a 'springtime' helper with my 50W Hella restoration project this weekend.
Anybody have any tips for 'cleaning up' the metal mounting hardware?
Its just feeling old and weathered.
Was thinking about blasting it with some wd-40 or oil or something...
Should I paint it?
Etc...
...opinions wanted!
Today I replaced the front pads and turned the rotors. Replaced the hardware and shoes on the right rear since someone put them in upside down, started the por-15 process inside the cab. Put in front bump stops.
Took it for a drive after I got the wheels back on and my brakes are worse than before. I'm hoping it just takes a few miles of driving to break in the pads and rotors. I literally had my foot to the floor and coming down a steep hill by my house it barely came to a stop at the bottom. Kinda pissed me off. Realized I didn't do a very good job sealing my valve cover so I'll go redo that tomorrow. Gonna finish the por process. Probably fiddle with the rear brakes to make sure they're working right as well. Might even change the motor and transmission mounts too.
Picked up a new toy for the Jeep. Actually left 1am yesterday, drove down to Emeryville, CA then back up to Burney and camped then the rest of the way today. Used my mom's truck since my Jeep doesn't have the right trailer light connection yet.
Still need to pick up a drop hitch, repair a few straps on the tent and take care of a few leaks on the cargo box but I LOVE it! Only 1400 lbs and a 150lb tongue weight!
Actually it goes the other way. The trailer would need aprox 46" tires to match the height of the Jeep bumper.
It also has a different bolt patter (5 on 5.5) so I think I'll probably just leave the tires how they are. I'd like to find different wheels but doubt I'll be able to sell 3 wheels.
