You mean 4.88?
I didn't think so? Do they not have 3.88 gears? If not then I guess it is 4.88

I hope you're done with him, because it's my turn now!You mean 4.88?
But anyway got my 81/4 back from the gear guru with a brand new set of nitro 4.88's and master overhaul kit installed.

Darrell said he's only working one week a month now? Hopefully my 8.8 will be heading down then next week though.
Dude Jesse, If those axles came with 4.88's. You scored!!!!
...y-linkSo now I will be running a 3 link up front.
I'm cheap.Yep all done for now with labor. But I will be ordering more parts though him. By the way why didn't you buy your parts though him? Everything I have bought from him has been way cheeper then on the net, plus I can almost walk over and pick them up.
Dave
drove to the store in 2WD, I don't think you can get much better than a BFG AT for a snow tire.

Your right Dustin, but now that you mention it I may just go to a true 3 link. I think I still have the factory upper mounts still welded to the unibody.
I will need to really reinforce them but its an idea, I could maybe run a 4 link also.

you don't want to do that, your pinion angle vary greatly when your suspension cycles. Likely to get a shallower angles as the axle drops away and a steeper angel as it compresses.
Yeah thats true, however wouldnt this happen with any 3 link or 4 link. This wouldnt matter when you are driving down the road at 55 or 60 because your pinion angle and caster angle would be correct. It would only change on articulation, like offroading and this is slow speed. Correct? or not
it is minimized by most setups because the upper and lower arms are roughly the same length and have the same front/back travel. If you use a short upper arm and a long lower arm your upper arm will have more front back movement than the lower causing the pinion axle to change drastically with suspension travel.
