What did you do to your XJ today

No not to hard if you have a heat gun. Had to use that and some steel so after getting it heatted up and somewhat soft use the steel to hold it in place while it cools back down to keep it where you want it to form. When I do the other side I will take some other pics of it all being done to help with ideas on how to do it. I figure spending some time doing this is more then worth saving around $300+.

alright cool many you can make a thread or something on how to do it?? just taking pix of what to do and stuff that'd help me out alot. cuz i have an idea on what your talking bout but i'm just more of a visual person you know.

but yeah that saves you alot of money doing that and it still turns out pretty much the same look.
i mena it also alot lighter to then if you were going to make like tube flares and stuff you know

Yeah it is riveted, the bent edge of the plastic is on the back side of the fender and then I used the metal that I cut off the fender, drilled it with the same size holes and then cut it into little 1" squares and used it as the backing so the plastic is sandwiched between that and the fender.

and you knwo i guess if you really wanted to get some texture you could get that spray on bedliner stuff and call it good you know then i think it'd look even better since you just add textuew to it you know

THIS. is my pet peev. i am absolutly maticluas about keeping things up off my floor. im not shure why, but it drives me nutz, FREGIN NUTZ, hearing/seeing stuff moving around in the jeep...

ben i kinda want to make my bumper like Mnkyboy's but no stinger. i can send you some pix of what i kinda want there rough sketches but they do the job

The hardest part on mine was getting the upper and lower bars to come together in just the right spot in the corners.

yeah i bet haha. i've been thinking for awhile about bumper ideas and i just want to get rid of my stock one i don't like it haha. how much tubing did you use on that bumper? what size also?

IIRC about 22' 1 3/4". It was left overs from my sand rail build.

alright cuz i have 20ft of tubing right now so i'll probably just get another stick of tubing and i think i'd be good to go i mean 40ft.... yeah haha i may be able to make a rear bumper possibly but idk if ben will want to make a rear one to and also idk how much time this is going to take so just start on the front and if we still have enough time and if ben still wants to work haha we can work on the rear
