What CB channel when on the trail?

I'm headed to Relief Resavoir for a camping trip next weekend, what channel does everyone use while in the back country?

I did a google search and got some mixed results. Is there a consensus channel that everyone uses? And if there isn't, somehow we need to start a standard channel that we all use on the trail?

You should try and stick to a certain channel, say like us we tend to be on 5. This way you can tune your antenna (via a SWR meter) to that particular channel and optimize your radio specifically to that channel.

If you are wondering if there is some special jeeper CB channel set by who knows know - There is no specific channel. The channel is whatever you and your group choose for the day and move from there if someone is already on it.

In the hills I can play with my radio and not hear a peep on channels 29-40, could easily own one of these channels, we should start a Movent to standardize an offroad channel. It would be nice to be able to communicate with other potential groups.
