What batteries will fit? (Duralast Platinum AGM)

My battery is dead and needs replacement. I can get a good deal on Autozone batteries through my work, and am looking at going the AGM route but can't afford the $200+ on Optima's (and their quality has gone down from what I've been told). Autozone doesn't make a Group 58 AGM (OEM size), so what other sizes can fit? I don't have my Jeep handy to measure and need something before I go home for the weekend. I tried a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for (having to do a quickie browse between work tasks).

BTW, vehicle is an 1989 Cherokee Limited.

I believe my Optima is a 34/78. Fits in the standard battery area on my '95.

Costco, cheapest place, will peice match.

So a group 78 will fit? I'm looking at the Dual Terminal AZ Platinum Group 78 in that case (would be nice to have side terminals for hooking up my auxiliary fog lights.)

Yeah my Carquest basic POS finally crapped out after around 3 years or so. I'm swapping the battery back and forth right now between my car and my Jeep, but my car has a relocated battery so the size isn't too dependent on fitting it, it's the Jeep I was worried about fitting.

Optima Red top 34/78 in 3 out of 4 XJ,s in the driveway,,,87,96,98. Only the 95 still has an reg battery (for now).

Ended up getting a 34/78 Carquest Platinum AGM battery (appears to be identical to the Autozone Platinum, might be made by the same company?). As it turns out, the old battery I had was also a Group 34 so fitment shouldn't be an issue in my Jeep when I swap vehicles for the weekend tonight after work.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

It seems like every battery I get last 2 years no matter if its Diehard or HeatBeater or Duralast so I just get the cheapest one now instead of the prorated high dollar ones.

A word of caution about battery sizes. I don't remember what sizes are what, but there is a battery size that fits in the tray but is too tall, at least for the later models, and the posts will hit the hood. Whatever you do to trim the tray, if you go for a greater footprint, watch the height.
