What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Run it. No need to get bizarre unless it doesn’t work.

Yeah. I think overall you should be fine.

I've sheared the studs off a high steer arm, though it was a slight speed impact, and the studs weren't ARP's (stronger).

I've got Solid's with Artec Arms now. Love having a keyway and the arm tied to the knuckle. If this blows up somehow then the whole axle is likely done

New Inner C's landed (second pair)...
New front DS stuff on the way to build one...
New taller D60 Yoke landing any day now...
1350 Non-CV Yoke for the D300 on its way...

Gotta love changing stuff up.

Still doesn't cover
- 3/4 brake swap on the D60
- A new (same but with welded AN fittings) Griffin Radiator
- Coolant system revamp stuff
- AL front links (extended the wheelbase a hair).

Luckily the DS and Cooling stuff are easy.

Once the C's are on the D60, things should get trucking pretty quick.

Especially with Bryson being willing to make my life much less miserable by cutting brackets by hand

Well, this should make 1Ton happy. My old 7.3L had a mechanical issue this week. Fuel filter housing drain valve started leaking. Damn O-rings only lasting 18 years!! :D

And in another week my truck's arse won't have to hang out of the garage when getting some TLC

I'm scheduled to close on my new house Wed. Just did the final "blue tape" walk through today. 3 car garage is 26ft deep with 12ft ceilings. Oh, and there are some bedrooms, bathrooms, and a kitchen too.

Hell yeah, look awesome!

Having more room to work is nice. Though my F-350 still doesn't fit in my shop...

So, the tube is welded to the center section. I have an artec link tower for the upper link mount. I was planning on adding some sort of truss into it but I want to get the track bar mount on too then I will pull it out and do that. Wont be anything big but something to tie it all together.

I hadn't planned on doing anything more with the knuckles. I was asking a while back about them and didn't get a whole lot back. Yea they're just plated front and rear. Front has double shear mount for steering and a big gusset for the knuckle. I wanted to run hydro assist mounted to the tie rod so I was hoping that would keep the load off the high steer arm. Still think it needs to be tied together? Really I'd just like to get a year out of these until I can get some rieds or solid knuckles. Whatcha guys think?

Thus typical knuckle plate and gusset ...nothing fancy bit you see where you're missing the middle . I just made a plate and welded my stock rod location to the plate tie on the steering arm i also welded the back and outside if the steering arm to the knuckle ...i was running 44s and it had crappy studs and bolts on one knuckle so I over killed it. The plate and a bolt tie in to the stock rod location is all you really need. When you tie the front of the hi steer arm to the stock rod location by welding or bolting you eliminate much of twisting at the knuckle studs.

Nope, I was in front. I then had your now wife drive it while I walked along and kick steered your tire.

11 years on the 08 6.7 CTD nothing under hood replaced but the serp belt and basics like batteries and radiator cap ... and I went through 4 sets of rear tires the first 8 months i had it...lol... so I know it's had a harder life than the ol' pooper-doodey ...lol

Like I said, I knew it would make you happy that an 18 year old o-ring started leaking and made me fix something on my truck. Any chance you get to nut swing about your Cummins you'll take.

Although I haven't had to replace my radiator cap yet. Just saying.

So your Ford broke and my name was the first thing that came to your mind ... how's the tow truck driver goin to feel about that ?

Tow truck driver? From a leaky fuel bowl drain? Do you even know diesel? Maybe your fancy Fiat throws a CEL and goes into limp mode every time a seagull sneezes while flying through a northern wind. The old International 7.3 doesn’t even know how to limp mode. It’s just drips and marks it’s territory while still chugging along.

Speaking of 6.7 Cummins, a buddy is looking to add a tuner on his. What’s the best option that’ll allow him to delete later on when his emissions equipment starts to fail?

Got Ash’s whip mounted and wired up. Going to be pretty fun for night wheeling and camping. Stupid bright.
